Pedagogical vision

Teaching is, for me, an integral part of my life as a musician.

In fact, what first attracted me to music was its profound connection to transmission and communication.

Through performance, I share energy, a story, a moment. Through teaching, I transmit knowledge, but above all, experience and a path.

For me, teaching is above all a human exchange, based on attentive and caring listening. I see my work as a teacher as an adventure in which each student requires their own attention, teaching approach and contact. I find this dynamic particularly exciting, as it pushes me to improve, adapt and, in turn, to always learn.

Experiences

My work mainly revolves around teaching the recorder, both in private lessons and at conservatories. I have also taught music theory and conducted ensembles and group workshops as part of various projects.

As a strong believer in ‘learning by doing’, I encourage my students to create, improvise and compose, either individually or in group and interdisciplinary projects, where they often become co-composers/co-actors in the project.

I hold a Master's degree in performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, a Master's degree in pedagogy from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, a State Diploma and a Bachelor's degree in musicology and performance from the Pôle Supérieur de Paris.

My teaching career has taken me from France to Switzerland, and I am comfortable teaching in French, English or German. Trained in the classical tradition and open to various styles such as folk and jazz, I adapt my lessons to the desires and needs of each student, whether they are following a classical path or wish to experiment with more personalised approaches. Lessons can focus on ear training, composition or improvisation, depending on the individual's wishes and needs.

I love being challenged by my students: it helps me progress as a musician myself. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information or to view my teaching portfolio!
